Dierbergs Rewards Program Terms

Welcome to the Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program (“Loyalty Program”), a program that allows you to earn points toward a discount off your next grocery store trip. There is no fee to participate in the Loyalty Program, it is free!

 

The Loyalty Program is operated by Dierbergs (“Dierbergs,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). These Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program Terms and Conditions (“Rewards Terms”) are incorporated into and made part of the Terms & Conditions of Use (“Terms and Conditions”). By participating in the Loyalty Program, you agree to these Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Terms and Conditions. Dierbergs reserves the right to modify these Rewards Terms at any time in its sole discretion. Each time you participate in the Loyalty Program, you agree to be bound by and comply with the current Rewards Terms. If you do not agree with these Rewards Terms, you may not participate in the Loyalty Program.

1. Account Registration

 

Eligibility

The Loyalty Program is available to legal residents of the States of Illinois and Missouri. You must be 18 years or older to participate in the Loyalty Program. No entities, third-party aggregators, organizations, or groups may register for the Loyalty Program.

 

Registration

To participate in the Loyalty Program, you must create a Dierbergs account through the Dierbergs mobile application ("Dierbergs App") or online at https://www.dierbergs.com or through www.shop.dierbergs.com ("the Sites"). By creating a Dierbergs account, you will automatically be enrolled in the Loyalty Program.

Note that www.dierbergs.com is our main website, where you can manage your Rewards account, browse store information, and place catering orders. www.shop.dierbergs.com is our dedicated online grocery shopping platform, where you can shop for groceries for delivery or pickup.

A registered Dierbergs account is required to earn and redeem rewards and to purchase groceries for delivery through the Sites. To create an account, you may be asked to provide certain registration details or other information, including a name, email address or mobile phone number, and a favorite Dierbergs store. You will be asked to create a password for your account, and we will verify your account by sending a code by text message or email based on your preference. Following verification, your account will be active, and you will be ready to start saving and earning rewards. To sign in to your account, you may use your registered phone number or email address and password. Only one Dierbergs account is allowed per person. You acknowledge that your account is personal to you and, except as expressly allowed herein, agree not to provide any other person with access to your account or your account credentials. You agree that you are responsible for any and all activities under your account. You agree to keep your account information correct, current, and complete. You also agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account. From time to time, we may provide you with other ways to access, update, and use your account.

 

Single Sign-On (SSO) Access

Your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account credentials (email address or phone number and password) allow you to access your account across multiple platforms using single sign-on (SSO). This means you can use the same login credentials to access:

  • The Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program mobile app

When you sign in to any of these platforms using your Rewards account credentials, you will have access to your account information, including your points balance, digital coupons, and account settings. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account on any platform where you use SSO.

You should contact us immediately at 314-916-1811 if you suspect unauthorized access to your account on any platform.

 

Use by a Household

Members of the same household may share an account. When you choose to share an account within a household, you agree to assume all risk related to any use or misuse of your account and any points or rewards redeemed by any person(s), whether by yourself, a household member, or an unauthorized third party. You may view all activity under your account on the Dierbergs App and/or the Sites. You should contact us at 314-916-1811 in the event of any suspected unauthorized access to or misuse of your account, but you will remain solely responsible.

 

 

2. Loyalty Program Services

You can access your Loyalty Program account through the Dierbergs App or on the Sites. The Dierbergs App and the Sites offer certain features that allow you to manage your account, including but not limited to, (i) checking your points balance, (ii) viewing your earned and redeemed point history, (iii) updating your account information, (iv) accessing Dierbergs digital coupons, and (v) redeeming points in the Rewards Marketplace. When you shop at www.shop.dierbergs.com, you can sign in with your Rewards account credentials to earn points on qualifying purchases and to apply any digital coupons you have clipped to your account. As used in these Rewards Terms, “qualifying purchases” means purchases of eligible products at Dierbergs, excluding the products and transaction types listed under “Excluded Purchases” below. Features of the Loyalty Program may change from time-to-time, and we may discontinue certain features without notice.

 

3. Earning Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program

The Loyalty Program allows you to earn points in-store, online, and with a Shipt, DoorDash, Uber Eats or Instacart accounts on qualifying purchases.

 

In-Store

To earn points in-store, a cashier will scan a unique barcode generated through the Dierbergs App or you may enter your phone number on the keypad at checkout. If you do not scan the barcode or enter your phone number at the time of purchase, points will not be added to your account for that transaction. To use your unique barcode, open the Dierbergs App, tap Rewards at the bottom of the screen, and present the barcode for the cashier to scan. All reward points will be added to your account following checkout.

Because we recognize you may occasionally forget to scan your barcode or enter your phone number, Dierbergs will allow you to earn points in store with a barcode featured on your printed purchase receipt. If at the time of purchase, you forget to scan the barcode through the Dierbergs App or enter your phone number, you may take your printed receipt to the guest services checklane. You must bring your printed receipt to the customer service counter within two (2) days of the time stamp featured on your receipt. Guest Services may scan your printed receipt barcode and you will earn rewards for that purchase. We will limit the courtesy to one (1) printed purchase receipt scanned per day to receive rewards for a past purchase. If we suspect misuse of this courtesy, we reserve the right in our sole discretion to not provide reward points for your past purchase.

 

Online

Dierbergs operates two separate online platforms: www.dierbergs.com, our main website where you can manage your account and place catering orders, and www.shop.dierbergs.com, our dedicated online grocery shopping platform. The rules for earning points differ depending on which platform you use, as described below.

 

Online Catering Orders

To earn points on catering orders placed through www.dierbergs.com, you must sign in to your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account before submitting your order. You can sign in using your Rewards account phone number or email address and password. Once signed in, you will automatically earn points on qualifying catering purchases at the same rate as in-store purchases (see "General" section below for earning rates). Points earned from your catering order will be added to your account within twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours of your order being completed. You will only earn points on the price of catering items purchased. You will not earn points on service fees, taxes, or other non-product charges. Note that Rewards points and coupons may not be redeemed on catering orders.

 

Online Grocery Orders

To earn points when shopping at www.shop.dierbergs.com, you must sign in to your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account before placing your order. You can sign in using your Rewards account phone number or email address and password. Once signed in, you will automatically earn points on qualifying purchases at the same rate as in-store purchases (see "General" section below for earning rates). Digital coupons are available through the Sites and the Dierbergs App and must be manually clipped to your Rewards account prior to checkout in order to be applied to qualifying items in your order. Coupons that have not been clipped prior to checkout will not be applied to your order and cannot be applied retroactively. Points earned from your online purchase will be added to your account within twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours of your order being completed (delivered or picked up). You will only earn points on the price of groceries purchased. You will not earn points on delivery fees, service fees, tips, taxes, or other non-product charges.

 

With Instacart

To earn points on Instacart purchases, you must link your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account to your Instacart account before placing an order. You can access Instacart delivery services directly through www.shop.dierbergs.com. If you do not already have an Instacart account, you may create one through www.shop.dierbergs.com or through the Instacart mobile application or website. When accessing Dierbergs delivery through Instacart, you may be prompted to link your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account at that time. You may also link your accounts manually by navigating to the Dierbergs store on the Instacart mobile application, tapping "Add Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program to save>" near the top of the screen, and entering your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program phone number.

Once your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account is linked to your Instacart account, you will begin earning points on qualifying Dierbergs purchases made through Instacart. You will only earn points on the price of groceries purchased. You will not earn points on any Instacart service fees, delivery fees, tips, taxes, or other non-product charges. Rewards points will be added to your account within twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours of delivery of your purchase.

Please note: Purchases made through www.shop.dierbergs.com (our online shopping platform) are different from purchases made through the Instacart app or website for Dierbergs delivery. Both allow you to earn Rewards points, but www.shop.dierbergs.com is our dedicated online shopping experience where you sign in directly with your Rewards account. The Instacart app/website is a separate platform that requires you to link your Rewards account as described above.

 

With DoorDash

To earn points with your DoorDash account, you must link your Loyalty Program account with your DoorDash account before placing your order. On the DoorDash mobile application or website, you will navigate to the Dierbergs Marketplace, tap on the Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program logo in the upper right corner and enter the phone number associated with your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account. Then press finish. You will then receive a confirmation that your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account has been linked. Once your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program account is linked to your DoorDash account, you will begin earning points on qualifying Dierbergs purchase. You will only earn points on the price of your groceries purchased. You will not earn points on the DoorDash service fee amount. You will obtain Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program points within twenty-four (24) hours of delivery of your purchase.

 

With Shipt

To earn points with your Shipt account, you must link your Loyalty Program account with your Shipt account before placing your order. On the Shipt mobile application or website, you will navigate to your account and select “Rewards,” where you then can add your phone number in order to link your Loyalty Program account. Once your Loyalty Program account is linked to your Shipt account, you will begin earning points on qualifying purchases. You will only earn points on the price of your groceries purchased. You will not earn points on the Shipt service fee amount. You will obtain rewards points within twenty-four (24) hours of delivery of your purchase.

 

With Uber Eats

To earn points with your Uber Eats account, you must link your Loyalty Program account with your Uber Eats account before placing your order. On the Uber Eats mobile application, once you have entered your delivery address and chosen Dierbergs for delivery, you will see a blue box at the top that says, “Earn rewards with your Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program Loyalty…” Click on this box where it says, “See Details,” and you will be prompted to enter your account number to link your Loyalty Program account. Once your Loyalty Program account is linked to your Uber Eats account, you will begin earning points on qualifying purchases. You will only earn points on the price of your groceries purchased. You will not earn points on the Uber Eats service fee amount. You will obtain rewards points within a week of delivery of your purchase.

 

General

The points you earn have no cash or property value or equivalency outside of this Loyalty Program. For every one dollar ($1) you spend in-store, online, or with an online delivery partner, including Instacart, DoorDash, Shipt or Uber Eats, you earn fifteen (15) points. When you reach one-thousand five hundred (1,500) points you unlock rewards, including redeeming rewards points for cash off your purchases or free grocery purchases. You may earn rewards points for purchases of alcohol (note, however, that reward points may not be redeemed for alcohol purchases — see Section 4 below). From time to time, we may provide additional earning opportunities, including but not limited to, sign-up bonuses, surveys, bonus point campaigns, and completing other online actions. We may also provide additional discretionary rewards or points on certain occasions, including but not limited to, birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and other events or promotions. We reserve the right to modify or change these additional earning opportunities and rewards at any time and for any reason.

You are limited to earning 37,500 points per day with your account, corresponding to earning points on around two-thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) in eligible purchases each day. We will round your points up or down to get to the nearest whole number on a per eligible item basis. Point totals at a decimal under .50 will be rounded down and point totals at a decimal .50 or greater will be rounded up. For example, if the net price paid for an eligible item in your purchase is $1.31 and you earn 15 points per dollar spent, we will round the 19.65 reward points to 20 points.

 

Excluded Purchases

You cannot earn rewards points on the following product purchases:
-- tobacco,
-- smokeless tobacco,
-- lottery purchases,
-- Dierbergs gift cards,
-- any pre-paid credit or debit cards,
-- postage,
-- non-food transactions made at a Courtesy Counter (including but not limited to rentals, rug doctor, propane exchanges, and purchasing a money order or wire transfer).

 

You also cannot earn reward points on:
-- donations,
-- the portion of a purchase discounted using points,
-- the sales tax of the purchase,
-- special transaction fees or delivery fees,
-- the portion of a purchase made using a money order,
-- purchases made if you are shopping for another customer as part of a commercial grocery service, for example, a Shipt (or any other online grocery delivery service) shopper cannot earn personal rewards points for purchases made while fulfilling a grocery order made through Shipt (or other online grocery delivery service).

 

We reserve the right to update these lists from time to time.

 

Effect of Coupons, Discounts, and Cash Rewards Used on a Purchase

When you use most coupons for an individual item, the value of points earned for those coupon-discounted items in any given transaction is based upon the price of the item after any coupons, discounts or rewards have been applied to the individual items, but before taxes and other fees are applied. When you use some coupons, a cash reward, or dollars off which applies the reward or discount to all eligible items, the coupon, cash reward, or total dollars off the order is applied as a discount to each eligible item individually on a pro rata basis (that is the discount is proportioned and applied to each item as a percentage of the total purchase prior to applying the discount). If the total purchase price of eligible items does not exceed the amount of the coupon, a cash reward, or dollars off, and you choose to apply such discounts, then we will only apply such coupon, a cash reward, or dollars off up to the total purchase price of eligible items and you will not receive the remainder in any capacity. Points earned will be calculated based upon the discounted price of each item after the pro-rata reduction in price of each item due to the cash reward or dollars off coupon is applied to the entire purchase. Examples of how rewards are calculated when a coupon is applied to an individual item or when a cash reward or total dollars off discount is used for an entire purchase are provided herein.

 

Example #1

If you purchase three (3) items and use one (1) coupon for fifty cents ($.50) off a specific item, you earn points on the net price paid for the item in which the coupon was applied.

Example #2

If you purchase four (4) items, and three (3) of the point eligible items initially totaled ten dollars ($10.00) and you redeem a four dollar ($4.00) cash off reward, the four dollar ($4.00) reward value will discount the points earned for each item you purchased.

Adjusted item price used to calculate rewards points after discount applied pro-rata:

Item 1:

$1.20 = ($2.00 – ($2/$10*$4.00))*

Item 3:

$1.80 = ($3.00 – ($3/$10*$4.00))*

Item 4:

$3.00 = ($5.00 – ($5/$10*$4.00))*

*This equation is (Original Price) minus (pro-rata discount). The pro-rata discount is calculated by determining the proportion of the individual item price to the total eligible item price ($2/$10 for item 1), then multiplying the total cash off reward or dollars off your total purchase by the proportion of the individual item price to the total eligible item price (see 2/10ths times $4.00 for item 1). The pro-rata discount is $0.80 for item 1, for a total discounted price of $1.20 and the rewards will be calculated based upon this discounted price of $1.20.

 

4. Redeeming Dierbergs Rewards Loyalty Program

 

Cash-Equivalent Discounts

Each time you reach one-thousand five hundred (1,500) points you unlock a reward, including the ability to redeem your points for cash-equivalent discounts applied to your purchases or free grocery purchases. You can only redeem your reward points for cash-equivalent discounts in-store, and at an in-store register during your purchase. Cash-equivalent discounts cannot currently be redeemed for purchases made at www.shop.dierbergs.com. Cash-equivalent discounts applied to the transaction cannot exceed the transaction value and the reward points cannot be exchanged for cash.

 

Rewards Marketplace

To redeem your reward points for free groceries, you must select a specific eligible item through the Rewards Marketplace on the Dierbergs App or the Sites. Available items in the Rewards Marketplace will be displayed in the App or on the Sites, and you must redeem your points for a specific listed item at the time of redemption. After you redeem your points to reserve an item on the Rewards Marketplace, you will have thirty (30) days to pick up the item in-store and take it to the checkout. You are limited to reserving a single item in the Rewards Marketplace a maximum of ten (10) times. If you are unable to collect your free groceries at the store because the store no longer has the item that you reserved on the Rewards Marketplace, the store may substitute a substantially equal item. Please contact the store manager for assistance. Once you have redeemed your points to reserve an item using the Rewards Marketplace, the redemption is complete, your points will be removed from your account, and the reservation may not be reversed. Items reserved through the Rewards Marketplace may not be returned for cash or store credit. Rewards Marketplace redemptions are for in-store pickup only and are not available for orders placed through www.shop.dierbergs.com.

 

Excluded Products/Purchases

You cannot redeem or use your reward points for purchases of:
-- alcohol,
-- tobacco,
-- smokeless tobacco,
-- price-controlled dairy products,
-- ANY gift card,
-- lottery purchases, and
-- non-food transactions at a Courtesy Counter (including but not limited to rentals, rug doctor, propane exchanges, purchasing a money order or wire transfer).

We reserve the right to update this list from time to time. Your rewards cannot be refunded once you have used your reward points.

 

5. Expiration of Rewards Points

Your reward points will be accumulated and applied in a first-in, first out manner meaning your oldest earned points will expire or be redeemed first. Your unused reward points will expire on a rolling twelve (12) month basis, meaning your unused reward points will expire twelve (12) months after you earn the reward points unless they are redeemed. Once your reward points expire, you will not be able to redeem the points for any cash off or free groceries. You cannot transfer or gift your reward points to another account or to another person. If you delete your Loyalty Program account, all remaining reward points in your account will be immediately and permanently forfeited, regardless of when they were earned, and cannot be recovered or redeemed after deletion.

 

6. Digital Coupons

Dierbergs digital coupons are a part of the Loyalty Program account and are available through the Dierbergs App and the Sites. After creating your Dierbergs account, you will be able to clip coupons through the Dierbergs App or the Sites. Digital coupons must be manually clipped to your Rewards account before they can be applied to a purchase. At checkout in-store, when a cashier scans your barcode or you enter your phone number, your clipped coupons will automatically apply to your purchase when an eligible item is scanned. When you shop at www.shop.dierbergs.com and sign in with your Rewards account, your clipped digital coupons will apply to qualifying items in your online order, provided they have been clipped prior to checkout. Coupons that have not been clipped prior to checkout will not be applied to your order and cannot be applied retroactively. You must have a registered Loyalty Program account to use your digital coupons and earn rewards for your purchases.

Please note that digital coupons are not available for catering orders placed through www.dierbergs.com and cannot be applied at checkout for catering orders.

 

7. Account Cancellation and Termination

You may uninstall the Dierbergs App at any time. To cancel your Loyalty Program account, you may submit a deletion request directly through the Dierbergs App or the Sites, or by submitting a request through our Contact Us form. If you choose to delete your account, all remaining reward points will be immediately and permanently forfeited and cannot be recovered or redeemed. You may reactivate your account by contacting Customer Service. However, any Rewards points that were forfeited upon deactivation or expiration of the account will not be restored upon reactivation. Reactivated accounts will begin with a zero point balance. You agree that we may, in our sole discretion, terminate your account due to conduct that we determine, in our discretion, violates these Rewards Terms, the Terms and Conditions, or any applicable law, involves fraud or misuse of the Loyalty Program, or is harmful to the interests of another customer. We reserve the right to deny future account registration if we deem your conduct has violated these Rewards Terms or our Terms and Conditions. In the event we terminate your Loyalty Program account, all remaining reward points in your account will be immediately and permanently forfeited and may not be redeemed.

 

8. Electronic Communications

 

Email

When you create a Loyalty Program account, you consent to receive communications from us by email or by posting notices on the Dierbergs App or the Sites. You may unsubscribe from email marketing preferences by following the instructions contained in our email communications; provided, however, we may still email you regarding specific transactions or notices related to the use of your rewards points or redemption thereof.

 

Text Messages

You may choose to verify your account during registration by text message. By selecting this option, you consent to receive a text message verification that may be provided using automated technology during the registration process. Standard message, data, and other fees may be charged by your carrier and carriers may deduct charges from pre-paid amounts or data allowances, for which you are responsible. Please contact your carrier for more information.

 

Push Notifications

Your Dierbergs App may provide you with push or in-app notifications when you have activated this setting on your mobile device. By activating the settings on your mobile device to allow the Dierbergs App to send you push notifications, you thereby consent to our delivery of electronic communications directly to your mobile device through push notifications. These notifications may be delivered to your device even when your Dierbergs App is running in the background. You may control the notifications that you want to receive through your device settings generally, and more specifically as applied to the Dierbergs App, including turning off push notifications in total. Your carrier may prohibit or restrict certain notifications and certain notifications may be incompatible with your carrier or mobile device. Please contact your carrier with questions regarding these issues.

 

9. Limitation of Liability

Any dispute, claim, or cause of action arising out of or relating to your participation in the Loyalty Program is subject to the mandatory arbitration provision and class action waiver set forth in the Use, which are incorporated herein by reference. In addition to any limits in the Terms of Use, you agree that Dierbergs limit of liability to you for any claims related to your use of the Loyalty Program shall be an in-store credit equaling the then-current cash-equivalent reward for the number of unused rewards points in your account on the date upon which the act or omission your claim is based first occurred.
