Toffee Apple Pear Crisp


4 cups peeled, cored, and thinly sliced baking apples (about 3 medium)
4 cups peeled, cored, and thinly sliced pears (about 3 medium)
1 package (5 ounces) sweetened dried cranberries
⅓ cup firmly packed Dierbergs brown sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
½ cup almond toffee bits (Heath)
¼ cup Dierbergs granulated sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 refrigerated pie crust (½ of 14.1-ounce package), cut into ½-inch pieces


In large bowl, combine apples, pears, dried cranberries, brown sugar, cornstarch, pie spice, and lemon juice until well mixed.

Pour mixture into 8-inch square baking dish that has been lightly coated with no-stick cooking spray.

In medium bowl, combine toffee bits, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Add pie crust pieces; toss until well mixed. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.

Bake in 375°F. oven until top is golden brown and juices bubble in center, about 50 minutes.

Cover loosely with foil; bake 5 minutes to melt toffee bits. Serve warm.
