Icon of two band-aids crossed with the Dierbergs D logo in the center Why is it important to get my flu shot this year?
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses, like flu is imperative. This fall and winter, getting a flu vaccine will be more important than ever, not only to reduce your risk from flu but also to help conserve potentially scarce health care resources.

Will getting the flu shot increase or decrease my chances of COVID-19?
Getting a flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, however flu vaccination has many other important benefits. Flu vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization and death. There is no evidence that getting a flu vaccination increases your risk of getting sick from a coronavirus, like the one that causes COVID-19.

Before immunization, we will take your temperature with an infrared forehead scanning device; any temperature over 100.4°F. will prevent us from administering a flu shot. Please postpone your visit if you are experiencing any Covid symptoms, including fever.
