Supporting Our Community

Like Customer Service,
Community Service is a Priority at Dierbergs

Our commitment to lending a helping hand reflects the Dierberg family’s long-held belief in giving back to friends and neighbors in our communities. Through contributions and partnerships, Dierbergs makes serving the community as much a priority as serving our customers.

Hunger Relief

(Operation Food Search, St. Louis Area Food Bank)

Ensuring that those at risk of hunger have access to healthy food is our highest giving priority. We achieve this in many ways including supporting organizations that provide food to those in need, running register campaigns that allow our customers to join in and help, donating millions of pounds of food annually, and providing volunteers to help pack donated food during the holiday season when need is the greatest.

Children's Education

(Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Lindenwood)

Children’s education is one of our top giving priorities. We fulfill this through programs with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Greater St. Louis area as well as by providing Lindenwood scholarships to eligible Associates annually.

Healthy Living

(COCA, Girls in the Know)

Helping those at risk for hunger and supporting healthy living go hand in hand. Two ways we support our healthy living initiative through our Dierbergs-sponsored kitchen at COCA and our partnership with St. Luke’s and Missouri Baptist to plan and teach healthy cooking classes at our Dierbergs Cooking School locations.

Disease Prevention

(Cardinal Glennon, Ranken Jordan)

Dierbergs supports organizations that work to fight disease through increasing awareness, programming, and funding of research. We understand that, like many needs, this is a growing issue, and we support many different types of disease prevention organizations to encompass as many of those in need in our community as possible.

Assistance to Those Less Fortunate

(Wings of Hope, Joshua Chamberlain Society, Honor Flight)

We continue to support as many organizations as possible to help build and make our community a better place for everyone. Along with supporting organizations like Wings of Hope that help those in need, we partner with the Joshua Chamberlain Society and Honor Flight Missouri to honor and assist those men and women who have served our country.

Stray Animal Welfare

(Stray Rescue, Dogwood Animal Shelter)

Dierbergs promotes the support of stray dogs and cats through our register campaigns, which customers can join in by donating to Stray Rescue in St. Louis and Dogwood Animal Shelter in Osage Beach. We also partner with Anheuser-Busch and Milkbone to generate additional funds for these organizations through product sales in our stores.

Bye to Bags

Dierbergs is proud of our partnership with the St. Louis Zoo. In addition to encouraging customers to use reusable bags by selling these in store, for every custom-designed Dierbergs reusable Zoo bag sold at our stores, we donate a portion of the proceeds back to the Zoo.

Save One Straw

Straws largely contribute to the growing environmental issues in the world. At Dierbergs, we sell Save One Straw reusable silicone straws. Save one Straw is a St. Louis-based company that uses only reusable or recyclable packaging materials as well.
