Product Recall: California Tree Ripe Peaches

St. Louis, August 24, 2020 - Dierbergs Markets voluntarily recalled and removed all California Tree Ripened Peaches from our store inventory on Saturday August 22nd. This is in response to a potential Salmonella contamination and recall by Prima® Wawona. Prima® Wawona is recalling the peaches as a precaution in connection with a Salmonella outbreak under investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that is suspected to have caused the illness of more than 60 people in nine states.

The affected product was last shipped from California on August 3rd. This included yellow and white peaches in both conventional and organic varieties.

Customers who have purchased any California Tree Ripened Peaches from Dierbergs before August 22, 2020, are encouraged not to eat them for their safety and instead return the affected product to any Dierbergs for a full refund.

Since the removal of these peaches on August 22, 2020, all Dierbergs locations have replenished in store displays of California tree-ripened peaches with new peaches that are not a part of this recall. Additionally, this recall does not affect any other tree fruit carried at Dierbergs, including our Homegrown Peaches, which come from Bader Farms in Campbell, Mo.
