meet rain

Meet Rain!

This wrinkly face is Rain, an adorable 4-month-old male Terrier.

Through the Pound Assistance Program his mom Raisa and her pups came to Stray Rescue since they were so sick. Unfortunately the other pups succumbed to illness. Now Rain is healthy.

Currently he is 25 pounds but will grow to be a medium to large dog.

He loves others dogs, and wrestles with his fellow foster dogs (some of them twice his size)!

Rain is crate trained and is working on house training.  He is neutered, micro chipped and fully vaccinated.

about stray rescue

Stray Rescue of St. Louis

Stray Rescue of St. Louis helps save abandoned pets from disease, neglect and death on the streets.

From what started as a makeshift organization in 1991, Stray Rescue's founder Randy Grim developed quite a reputation for rescuing and finding homes for stray dogs and cats.  As the number of animals finding their way to Randy's doorstep grew, so did the need for a non-profit organization to support his efforts.

Stray Rescue officially was born in 1998 as a full-fledged non-profit organization and shelter.

Since 1991, Randy Grim is credited with saving 5,000 feral dogs, all of which -- through months of gentle, loving care  -- have been turned into loyal companions and adopted by new families.  Some have even gone on to become therapy animals, bringing joy to people in hospitals and nursing homes.
