Dierbergs is authorized by the State of Missouri to accept WIC checks at all locations. You'll find a large number of items that qualify for WIC purchases. We welcome WIC checks.
WIC is a special supplemental food program for pregnant, breast-feeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to five years who are determined by qualified health professionals to be medically or nutritionally at risk and are eligible according to predetermined income guidelines.
In order to prevent the occurrence of health problems, WIC participants are provided with foods high in iron, protein, calcium and vitamins A, C and D. In addition to receiving prescribed food supplements, participants in WIC receive dietary counseling, nutrition education, and when appropriate, referral to other health and social service programs. WIC also provides health care and free immunizations at their clinics.
WIC is funded and administered at the national level by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service. The WIC Program in Missouri is administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services through contracts with city or county health departments, nursing services or other nonprofit agencies.
