Associate Training

Dierbergs is committed to the continuous education and development of our Associates.  We provide on-the-job training to ensure that new Associates acquire the necessary skills to be successful in their new positions.  We also provide "Extra Step" customer service training supporting Dierbergs' philosophy of exceeding customer expectation.  It is the foundation of our company. 

Our food-handling Associates also receive food safety training to ensure the quality of the products we offer to our customers.  Our commitment to the ongoing education of our Associates is critical to their job satisfaction as well as ensuring we provide a pleasant shopping experience to our customers.

Management Training

We are committed to developing our management team by offering ongoing training and on-the-job experiences in the areas of leadership, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, problem solving, coaching and motivating Associates, diversity and much more. 

At Dierbergs, we strongly believe in developing and promoting Associates, allowing them to advance their skills and experience great challenges.




Career Development Center

The Career Development Center (CDC) was established to assess an Associate's management skills and abilities. 

The CDC employs an assessment process for individuals interested in being promoted to a management position or for Associates who want to be more effective in their current position.  This process identifies areas of strength as well as developmental needs in six core competencies:  problem solving, leadership, management, work skills, interpersonal skills and motivation.
 
After all data is collected, a CDC Assessor interprets the data and a report is written for the Associate.  The report covers six core competencies drawing from the five measurement tools.  The Assessor also provides recommendations of available resources that will help the Associate address his or her developmental needs.
