Maple Glazed Standing Rib Roast  View Video
Your family is sure to love this richly glazed roast!1 beef roast (6 to 8 pounds), with chine bone removed
2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning
4 cloves garlic, slivered
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/3 cup horseradish mustard
Preheat oven to 450˚F. With sharp knife, separate meat from bones, cutting close to ribs. Sprinkle seasoning over bones and top of roast; spread garlic over bones. Replace meat on bones; tie in place. Place roast, bone-side down, in 9 x 13-inch pan. Place in oven and immediately reduce oven temperature to 350˚F. Roast for 1 1/2 hours. In small bowl, combine syrup and mustard. Spoon over meat every 15 minutes until internal temperature is 130˚F. for medium (2 to 3 hours total roasting time). Remove from oven and let stand covered until internal temperature is 145˚F., 15 to 30 minutes. Snip string; place meat on cutting board and slice.
