The special ingredient of honey whiskey gives great flavor to this tender steak.
1 Dierbergs Signature Angus beef flat iron steak (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1 tablespoon Dierbergs extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon Dierbergs brown sugar
1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 cup honey whiskey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Coarsely ground black pepper
Score both sides of steak; brush with olive oil. In small bowl, combine brown sugar, lemon pepper, and garlic powder; rub over steak. Place in glass baking dish. In 1-cup measure, whisk together remaining ingredients. Pour ¾ cup of the marinade over steak (refrigerate remaining marinade). Cover and marinate in refrigerator at least 2 hours or overnight. Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on oiled grid over high heat; cover and grill turning every 2 minutes and brushing with reserved marinade until internal temperature is 140°F., about 5 to 6 minutes per side. Let stand 5 minutes before thinly slicing across the grain.
