Sally Bruns
Sally Bruns Important Ingredients:
-Degree in Home Economics with emphasis in Food and Nutrition
-Worked as Nutrition Educator for Saint Louis Dairy Council and Director of Consumer Affairs for National Supermarkets
-Now Dierbergs West Oak School of Cooking Manager

If you are looking for Sally Bruns chances are you’ll find her cooking, not because it’s part of her job, but because it is an irreplaceable part of her life. Sally discovered her love for cooking as a child, and her life has been filled with food ever since.

Sally found a job at Dierbergs as a produce demonstrator and kitchen assistant fresh out of college. This helped land her a few other jobs in the food business, but Sally’s desire to spend more time with her two kids brought her back to Dierbergs as a free-lance instructor. Sally now teaches classes that show participants how to prepare a full meal using real life recipes they can take home and cook for family and friends.

Outside of Dierbergs, Sally’s devotion to cooking doesn’t rest. She is the volunteer banquet manager for her church, cooking for 50 to 200 people regularly. She can also be found catering on weekends, hosting her own parties with the help of her husband, and cooking for her family almost every meal they eat.

Sally’s Cooking Tip: “A lot of people think taking one class will give them everything they need to know about cooking, but to be a good cook you need to do it over and over again. It takes practice.”
