As a kid growing up in a large Italian family, Peter learned about good food at an early age. He spent a lot of time in his family’s grocery store on The Hill, where someone cooking in the back room was part of the daily routine.

Peter’s interest in science eventually led him to medical school, but his passion for cooking was never off the radar. While enjoying a successful career as a plastic surgeon, he is still intrigued by science, but in a much different setting...the kitchen.

So it was back to school - culinary this time - where Peter learned to appreciate not only the art of cooking, but the more technical side, as well. “Knowing your ingredients and how different cooking techniques affect the results is fascinating!”

When it comes to ingredients, Peter doesn’t play favorites – he likes everything! Italian food is his specialty and he also enjoys participating in barbecue competitions. Peter hopes one day to open a restaurant of his own.
Peter’s Cooking Tip: “Once you learn basic cooking techniques and how ingredients will respond, you can cook anything!”
