Jennifer Kassel Important Ingredients:
-Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Southwest Missouri State
-Started career in food service management for Deaconess Hospital
-Manager for Dierbergs Southroads School of Cooking since 1998

Jennifer knows that food makes people happy and she loves to share her talent for cooking at every chance she gets. Whether it’s filling up her dinner table with a huge Thanksgiving feast, teaching her daughter how to cook or instructing classes at Dierbergs, Jennifer takes pride in sharing her delicious creations.

Growing up in a family of foodies (her grandma, mom and brother are all cooks), Jennifer strayed away from her mom’s baking background and prefers stovetop cooking. She found a way to stay in the kitchen as she went through college and started her career, but always thought the Dierbergs Home Economist job was perfect for her.

Jennifer now teaches classes that focus on fresh ingredients with bold bright flavors. She is especially known for cooking anything with lemon. When she’s not cooking, Jennifer spends time with her daughter, teaching her to cook. Jennifer’s food has also gained a bit of celebrity around her house as her husband enjoys taking pictures of dishes that look especially delicious.

Jennifer’s Cooking Tip: “Keep things simple and seasonal. You don’t need a hundred expensive ingredients to make a flavorful meal. Use what’s on hand and what’s available.”
