Kicked-Up Lemonade

Ingredients

KICKED-UP CHERRIES
12 maraschino cherries
1 ounce black cherry bourbon (Red Stag)

SIMPLE SYRUP
½ cup water
½ cup Dierbergs sugar

KICKED-UP LEMONADE
24 ounces cold water
8 ounces fresh lemon juice
8 ounces Simple Syrup
6 ounces black cherry bourbon (Red Stag)

Directions

FOR KICKED-UP CHERRIES  In small bowl, combine maraschino cherries and the 1 ounce black cherry bourbon. Cover and chill several hours or overnight. Add to cocktails just before serving.

FOR SIMPLE SYRUP  In small saucepan, combine sugar and the ½ cup water over medium-high heat; cook stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer without stirring 1 minute. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature.

FOR KICKED-UP LEMONADE  In large clear pitcher, combine water, lemon juice, Simple Syrup, and the 6 ounces black cherry bourbon; stir briskly to combine. Chill several hours or overnight. Serve over ice. Garnish with Kicked-Up Cherries.

Tips

HOW TO RIM A GLASS
Wet outside rim of glass with lemon or lime wedge, one of the liqueurs in the recipe, or white corn syrup. Fill small saucer with coarse salt, sugar, or other rimming ingredient. Hold glass parallel to table. Dab rim into salt while slowly turning glass so only outer edge is covered; shake off any excess.
