Bruschetta Burgers


1 carton (12 ounces) miniature heirloom tomatoes
¼ cup chopped onion
1½ teaspoons chopped fresh basil
1½ teaspoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon Dierbergs olive oil
2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
4 Dierbergs ground beef patties (about ⅓ pound each)
4 slices Dierbergs provolone cheese
4 slices French bread
1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled, and sliced


In medium bowl, stir together tomatoes, onion, basil, vinegar, and olive oil until well mixed. Cover and chill 1 to 2 hours to develop flavors.

Season both sides of burgers with steak seasoning. Place burgers on oiled grid over medium heat; cover and grill until internal temperature is 160°F., about 5 to 6 minutes per side. Place 1 slice cheese on each burger. Brush both sides of bread with olive oil. Place on grid over medium heat; grill until lightly charred. Place 1 burger on each bread slice; top with tomato mixture and avocado slices.
