Spicy Grilled Guacamole

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
1 small onion, sliced ¼ inch thick
2 tomatillos, husks removed, rinsed, and halved
1 to 2 jalapeño peppers, halved, seeded, and deveined
¼ cup finely chopped cilantro
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon coarse salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Tortilla chips

Directions

Place avocados, onion, tomatillos, and jalapeños on oiled grid over medium-high heat; grill until lightly charred on all sides, about 2 to 3 minutes.

Scoop out avocado flesh; place in medium bowl and mash. Finely chop onion, tomatillos, and jalapeños; add to avocado. Stir in cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt, and pepper until well mixed.

Serve with tortilla chips.
