St. Louis, September 25, 2009 - In response to a voluntary product recall by Frick's Quality Meats, Dierbergs Markets has removed Frick's Premium Bologna from its shelves at five stores.
The Bologna Chub has been removed because it has been accidentally filled with Braunshweiger. Braunshweiger has a hydrolyzed whey and casein protein that is not declared on the Bologna label and could pose an allergy risk to certain individuals.
The product is a 1 lb. chub in a yellow plastic casing with the Frick's Premium Bologna label. The product will have a "Use by Date" of Dec 15-09.
At this time, Frick's has indicated that only five Dierbergs stores are affected by this recall - Wildwood Town Center, Bogey Hills, West Oak, Manchester and Southroads.
Customers may return the affected product to any Dierbergs for a full refund.
