• Assist the Deli/Seafood Manager in running a smooth and efficient operation in accordance to Dierbergs policies and procedures.
• Assist in the training, development and motivation of all Associates assigned to the department to build a strong cohesive team.
• Oversee the presentation and quality of all food products in the Deli.
• Ensure all food products prepared at store level are done according to specifications to ensure quality, consistency, portion control and profitability.
• Maintain the department in a clean and sanitary condition while enforcing the adherence to proper food handling procedures.
• Go the Extra Step to ensure customer satisfaction and build customer loyalty.
• Perform all functions of the Deli/Seafood Clerk job description

Qualifications

• 2+ years of previous food service experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• 1-2 years supervisory/lead experience required.
• Must have a strong ability to work well with people.
• Have demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate strengths in the following areas: work skills, written and verbal communication, problem solving, leadership, interpersonal skills and motivation.
• Have a strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures/guidelines.
• Demonstrate a "passion" to work with food and enjoys working in a fast pace food service environment.
• Must present a professional image.
• Must be highly motivated.
• Must be an enthusiastic team player with a positive approach to work and the company.
• Must be flexible to work a varied work schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to lift 5 to 30 lbs. many times a day, including frozen seafood items.
• Must occasionally be able to lift products above head to retrieve and restock product on shelves
• Must occasionally be able to lift products weighing up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest.
• Must occasionally be able to push/pull 4-wheel product-loaded carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
