Dierbergs and its Customers Raise more than $6,300 for KidSmart

For Immediate Release: August 22, 2016

ST. LOUIS – A donation-at-checkout program at Dierbergs has raised more than $6,300 for KidSmart, a local organization that ensures St. Louis-area children and their classrooms will have necessary school supplies.

The one-month program, which started in early July at St. Louis-area Dierbergs stores, gave customers the opportunity to make a donation to KidSmart as they checked out their groceries. Dierbergs collected $6,355.14, which will be used by KidSmart to purchase markers, notebooks, folders and other supplies for local schools.

"With 90,000 kids in the St. Louis area who come to school without the basic school supplies, we’re grateful for our partnership with Dierbergs," said Matt Cady, KidSmart Director of Administration. "Because of Dierbergs and its customers, thousands upon thousands of children will now be equipped with the essential tools for learning."
